How To Make Easy Caesar Salad Recipe
When making this Caesar Salad I always start with the croutons since they take the longest. While the croutons are in the oven doing their thing I whip up the Caesar Dressing and prep the lettuce and cheese.
STEP 1 Make The Croutons
Preheat your oven to 325°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the bread cubes out evenly. Drizzle with oil and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and oregano. Toss until everything’s coated, then spread into a single layer. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, stirring halfway through, until dry and toasty.
STEP 2 Make The Dressing
Use an immersion blender to make light work of this dressing. If you do not have an immersion blender you can use a regular blender or make it by hand.
Add everything to a wide-mouth mason jar or cup that fits an immersion blender (or add to a blender). Blend until smooth and creamy, this takes less than a minute. If you prefer a thinner consistency, just blend in another tablespoon or two of water until it’s just right.
STEP 3 Assemble The Caesar Salad
Wash and thoroughly dry your romaine lettuce. Tear or chop into bite-sized pieces and place in a large bowl. Add the dressing and toss gently to coat. Start with a little and add more as needed. Top with croutons and freshly shredded Parmesan cheese and cracked pepper. Enjoy!
💭 Quick Tip
If you do not have a blender to make the Caesar dressing, you can still make it by hand. Start by finely mincing the garlic cloves and anchovy fillets, then mash them together with the side of your knife until a smooth paste forms. Add all of the dressing ingredients to a bowl, using grated Parmesan instead of shredded, and whisk until everything is fully combined.
