Easy, from scratch, and so delicious! This Easy Homemade Croutons recipe is my go-to every time. This is my tried-and-true method for making crunchy, flavorful croutons right at home using pantry staples. Once you see how quick and easy it is, you'll never want to buy croutons again.

I bake homemade French Bread about once a month, and I always freeze one loaf for later. It’s perfect for garlic bread, or croutons like these. You can even freeze leftover hot dog or hamburger buns and use them here. It’s a great way to cut waste and make something really tasty from what you already have.

Key Ingredients & Substitutions
- Bread: A thicker cut of bread works best. French bread, leftover hot dog or hamburger buns, or even a crusty sourdough are all great options.
- Olive Oil or Butter: Either one works to coat the bread and help it crisp up in the oven.
- Seasonings: I usually keep it simple with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and dried oregano. Feel free to switch up the herbs with parsley, rosemary, or even thyme. Parmesan Cheese adds a great savory touch if you sprinkle it over before baking.
Bake Temperature & Time
This recipe is a little different from most crouton recipes. Instead of baking them at a high temperature for a short time, I bake them low and slow. The lower temperature helps them dry out fully without becoming overly hard, so they’re crunchy but still easy to eat.
