Oven Baked Pork Chops

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

Tender, juicy, and full of flavor, these Oven Baked Pork Chops are a weeknight dinner win. The best part? The oven does most of the work, so you can get a homemade, from-scratch meal on the table without much fuss. If you're looking for a quick and easy pork chop recipe, this is it.

This is one of those go-to dinners I lean on when I need dinner quick but I still want something hearty and satisfying. While the chops bake, I can focus the sides. We love pairing them with my Green Beans and Potatoes recipe, it's a simple combo that always hits the spot.

If you enjoy this recipe, you might also like my creamy garlic pork chops recipe, oven roasted chicken thighs, or this easy pork tenderloin and potatoes. All are simple, from scratch dinner options that are perfect for busy nights.

How To Make Oven Baked Pork Chops

These pork chops are seasoned with a simple blend of spices and baked until juicy and tender. The garlic and butter add incredible flavor, and the hands-off cook time makes this an easy go-to dinner.

STEP 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F. Mix together salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, dried oregano, and chipotle powder in a small bowl.

STEP 2

Place the pork chops on a parchment-lined baking sheet or in a baking dish. Drizzle both sides with olive oil, then season generously with the spice mixture.

STEP 3

Evenly sprinkle the minced garlic over each pork chop. Top each one with a piece of butter.

STEP 4

Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F. Let the pork chops rest for 10 minutes before serving.

💭 Quick Tips

  • The bake time will vary depending on the thickness of your pork chops. This recipe works best with chops that are about 1 inch thick.
  • For extra flavor and a golden crust, pan sear the pork chops in an oven safe skillet before baking. Add garlic and butter after searing, then transfer to the oven.
  • Spoon some of the pan drippings over the chops before serving for even more flavor.

Do you think this would work with boneless pork chops?

Hi Kristie! This recipe works great with boneless chops. Since they cook faster without the bone, I recommend checking the temperature about 5 minutes early, still aiming for 145°F.

I followed the recipe to a T using a cast iron skillet to sear & bake. I found 1/2” chops with some blubber left on & the spice/herb mix was awesome. The holy grail of baked pork chops has been resurrected! My sous chef, wife,
Was very impressed- you should see her boil water. Best ever!

I gave this recipe a try tonight, and it worked out very well. I adjusted the seasoning for our tastes, using salt, pepper, paprika, and oregano. I seared the pork chops 1 minute on each side, transferred them to a baking pan, drizzled them with olive oil, and added the fresh garlic and butter, and baked to 145 degrees. They came out moist and had a great taste, and, best of all, no leftovers. This just became our go-to recipe for pork chops.

Let me start by saying I don't really care for pork chops, HOWEVER, this recipe had amazing flavor! I actually had one for lunch the next day! I followed the recipe to a "T", the seasoning was perfect and the garlic and butter is what put it over the top!
Thank you for the fantastic recipe!

This was pretty good. Next time no spice. I noticed it called for onion powder but was not listed in the ingredients. May try it next time. I omitted oregano because my husband doesn’t care for the taste.

      Delicious!!!!!

Lovely Seasoning and tender pork chops.

My husband said they were honestly the best pork chops he had ever had.

My kids gobbled them right up and asked when we could have them again.

Then talked about how good they were off and on for a week.

      Thank You So Much!
