Ingredients

  • 4 bone in pork chops about 1-inch thick
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon chipotle powder or cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter cut into 4 pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F. Mix together salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, dried oregano, and chipotle powder in a small bowl.
  • Place the pork chops on a parchment-lined baking sheet or in a baking dish. Drizzle both sides with olive oil, then season generously with the spice mixture.
  • Evenly sprinkle the minced garlic over each pork chop. Top each one with a piece of butter.
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F. Let the pork chops rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • The bake time will vary depending on the thickness of your pork chops. This recipe works best with chops that are about 1 inch thick.
  • For extra flavor and a golden crust, pan sear the pork chops in an oven safe skillet before baking. Add garlic and butter after searing, then transfer to the oven.
  • Spoon some of the pan drippings over the chops before serving for even more flavor.
