Key Ingredients & Substitutions

  • Chicken Breasts – Boneless, skinless chicken breasts make for a quick and easy meal, but you can also use chicken tenders, thighs, or even drumsticks. Keep in mind that different cuts will require different cooking times.
  • Apple Cider Vinegar – Adds tangy depth to the marinade. You can substitute white wine vinegar, red wine vinegar, or even lemon juice for a slightly different flavor profile.
  • Dijon Mustard – Brings creaminess and a slight bite to the dressing. If needed, you can swap it for yellow mustard, or stone-ground mustard.

How To Make Italian Dressing Chicken

This baked chicken with Italian Dressing recipe is so simple, and the results are incredible! Here’s how to make it:

STEP 1

In a small bowl mix together the olive oil, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, salt, pepper, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, honey and Italian seasoning.

STEP 2

Place the chicken breasts in a large zip-top bag or shallow dish. Pour the Italian dressing marinade over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 24 hours for maximum flavor.

STEP 3

Preheat your oven to 400°F. Transfer the marinated chicken to a baking dish and discard any excess marinade. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. Enjoy!

💡Expert Tips

  • Marinate for longer – If time allows, marinating overnight will result in the most flavorful and juicy chicken.
  • Grill it! – Instead of baking, try grilling the chicken for a delicious smoky flavor. Cook over medium-high heat for about 5-7 minutes per side.
  • Use it in meal prep – This chicken is perfect for meal prepping! Slice it up and store it in the fridge to add to salads, wraps, or grain bowls throughout the week.
