💭 Quick Tips
- The bake time will vary depending on the thickness of your pork chops. This recipe works best with chops that are about 1 inch thick.
- For extra flavor and a golden crust, pan sear the pork chops in an oven safe skillet before baking. Add garlic and butter after searing, then transfer to the oven.
- Spoon some of the pan drippings over the chops before serving for even more flavor.

Do you cover your pork chops with foil as they're baking in the oven?
Sky Pilgreen says
Nope, no foil needed! I find that baking them uncovered gives the best texture. Just be sure to use a meat thermometer to pull them out at 145°F so they stay perfectly tender!

Trying to send to a friend. It's the best!

Way to salty. Needs to be 1 teaspoon.
Sky Pilgreen says
I am so sorry to hear these turned out too salty! This recipe is a favorite around here, so I’d love to help figure out what happened. By any chance, did you use table salt instead of Kosher salt? Table salt is much finer and 'saltier' than Kosher salt, so it can definitely make a big difference in the final dish! I’d love to know so I can make sure the recipe is as clear as possible for everyone.

I didn't have cayenne pepper or chipotle powder, so I used Cajun seasoning in place for the cayenne and chipotle. I made this with sour cream and chive mashed potatoes with California blend vegetables topped with a cheese sauce. And it was delicious. My husband even liked the way I did the pork chops.
Sky Pilgreen says
That sounds like a fantastic meal Karen! So glad that you and your husband enjoyed the pork chops!
DW says
Could you please tell me how to adjust time/temperature for extra thick bone-in chops; thank you, I can't wait to try!
Sky Pilgreen says
Great question! For extra thick bone-in pork chops, you can keep the oven temperature the same. Just plan to add about 5 to 6 minutes of additional cook time, and start checking the internal temperature as it gets close. You’re looking for 145°F in the center. If needed, let them cook a few minutes longer until they reach that temperature. I hope you love them!
