Need a healthy quick lunch or a new meal prep recipe? Try these Ground Turkey Taco Bowls, they are one of my favorite meal prep recipes. With so many ways to customize these taco bowls, everyone is sure to find a version they love!
Meal prepping, especially on weeks you know are going to busy, saves so much time and stress. There is nothing worse than being short on time, HANGRY and nothing prepped to eat. I don’t know about you, but this usually leads to me grabbing whatever unhealthy is nearby to eat.
I even make these Ground Turkey Taco Bowls for quick dinners. Whenever I serve these for dinner, I usually make a plethora of toppings (lots of veggies) so that everyone, even my picky eaters, has something healthy to mix into their taco bowls.
Ingredients in Ground Turkey Taco Bowls
There are 4 main ingredients that make the base of these taco bowls. The rest of the ingredients are toppings and add-ins that are easy to customize to your liking. I like to have a lot of veggies for toppings and add-ins. The more veggies, the better!
Ground Turkey Taco Bowls Base:
- Ground Turkey – I like using 93% lean Ground Turkey.
- Rice – Your choice, white or brown rice. For this recipe I used white rice.
- Black Beans – While completely optional, I highly recommend using black beans for added protein to help keep you full and fiber.
- Seasonings – All of your typical taco seasonings can be found in this recipe. Salt, pepper, ground cumin, paprika, garlic powder, chili powder, onion powder and dried oregano. Of course, you can use a taco seasoning mix if you have it.
Toppings and Add-ins for Ground Turkey Taco Bowls:
- Cheese – Shredded cheese like colby jack, cheddar or queso fresco are great toppings.
- Salsa– One of my favorite fresh salsas to add to taco bowls is Pico de Gallo. Jarred salsas are also great toppings.
- Tomatoes – Diced tomatoes are always great on taco bowls.
- Lettuce – Shredded lettuce is another great topping.
- Corn – Corn is another great add-in for turkey taco bowls. Or you could even make a black bean and corn salsa.
- Avocado – A must for any taco bowl. Sliced avocados or even guacamole is perfect for taco bowls.
- Sour Cream – You can’t go wrong with a dallop of sour cream.
- Cilantro – Fresh cilantro is another must have on taco bowls.
- Lime – I always serve lime wedges with these turkey taco bowls.

Ground Turkey Taco Bowls Meal Prep
To meal prep these turkey tacos bowls start by adding a scoop of the cooked rice to your container. Then add in a scoop each of the cooked ground turkey and black beans. Cover with a lid and refrigerate.
In a separate container place your favorite toppings and add-ins. I like to keep these in a separate container that way I can reheat the turkey bowl base. After your turkey bowl base has been reheated, combine the toppings and add-ins. Enjoy!
These ground turkey bowls can be stored in the refrigerator up to 5 days.
This recipe makes 4 ground turkey tacos bowl servings. If serving for dinner you can easily adjust the recipe with the servings adjuster found in the recipe card below.
