Ingredients

  • 4 cups bread cut into ¾-inch cubes
  • ¼ cup olive oil or melted butter
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
I always use Kosher salt in my kitchen! If using table salt, start with half the amount and adjust to taste, as it is much "saltier" by volume.

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Spread the bread out evenly on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and oregano. Toss well until all the bread pieces are evenly coated. Spread out evenly again.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the bread is dry and crunchy. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Use day-old bread or bread that’s slightly dried out for the best texture.
  • Store cooled croutons in an airtight container for up to a week.
  • Add shredded parmesan cheese for additional yummy flavor!
