Easy Grilled Chicken Marinade

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

This Easy Grilled Chicken Marinade is my go-to recipe for the summer! It's quick to put together and perfect for prepping ahead or tossing together last minute. It really doesn't get much easier than whisking up a few pantry staples, pouring it over chicken, and letting the fridge (or freezer) do the hard work. The result? Tender, juicy grilled chicken that tastes like it took way more effort than it actually did.

Why This Easy Grilled Chicken Marinade Is A Summer Staple!

I've made it twice this week! Once for a quick weeknight dinner, and once to freeze for later.

I've made a lot of marinades, but this one is my forever favorite. It's light, flavorful, and perfect for busy nights when I want something homemade but don't have time to overthink dinner.

We're talking 5 minutes, pantry staples, and zero stress. Just whisk it all together, toss in some chicken, and let it hang out in the fridge (or freezer!). Done!

Easy Grilled Chicken Marinade

Use It For Meal Prep

This recipe is super flexible. You can marinate the chicken in the morning and have it ready to grill by dinner or toss everything into a freezer bag for another day. As it thaws, it marinates-my favorite dinner hack!

We love this grilled chicken over a simple salad or served with my classic homemade potato salad.

And if you are looking for more summer recipes this Chipotle Pasta Salad is so good! So is this Corn and Avocado Salad recipe! Both are totally worth trying this summer!

Frequently Asked Questions

How long should chicken be marinated before grilling?

For the best flavor, chicken should be marinated for at least 2 hours before grilling. That said, if you're short on time, even 30 minutes will still add a nice boost of flavor. You can also marinate it overnight for deeper seasoning, just be sure not to go beyond 24 hours to keep the texture just right.

Should I rinse marinade off before grilling?

No, you should not rinse the marinade off before grilling the chicken. But you should pat the chicken dry to get a great sear.
