Chicken Salad with Grapes and Pecans

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

This Chicken Salad with Grapes and Pecans is a delicious twist on the classic chicken salad recipe, with sweet bursts of grapes, the crunch of pecans, and a creamy, dressing that ties it all together. Whether you're serving it on a sandwich, with crackers, or over a bed of fresh greens, this from-scratch chicken salad is a must-try!

I've been making chicken salad for years, and this version is hands-down my favorite. My family loves the sweet and savory contrast, and I love how simple it is to put together. It's also a great recipe for meal prep-I make a big batch at the beginning of the week and enjoy it for quick lunches throughout the week.

Key Ingredients & Substitutions

  • Dijon Mustard - Adds a slightly tangy flavor that pairs perfectly with the sweetness of the grapes.
  • Grapes - Red grapes are my favorite for their sweetness and color, but green grapes or even chopped apples can be used.
  • Pecans - Toasting them enhances their flavor. If you don't have pecans, walnuts, almonds, or even pine nuts will work beautifully.
  • Cooked Chicken - Rotisserie chicken is a great shortcut, but you can also use poached, baked, or grilled chicken.
