Key Ingredients & Substitutions
- Butter - Unsalted butter is my go-to. You can substitute with salted if that is what you prefer, just omit the salt from the recipe.
- Brown Sugar and Granulated Sugar - For soft, chewy cookies!
- Cornstarch - For a soft, tender, chewy texture! Don't skip this ingredient!
- Valentine M&Ms - these add color and crunch. You can substitute with regular M&Ms or any seasonal variety.
- Chocolate Chips - I use dark chocolate chips to balance the sweetness of the milk chocolate M&Ms, just a personal preference. Substitute with milk chocolate, semi-sweet chocolate, or white chocolate chips.
- Sprinkles - Totally optional, but they add extra Valentine flair and make these cookies even more fun.

👉 Sky's Tips
- Scoop the dough out before chilling. It's much easier to portion the dough while it's still at room temperature.
- Chill the dough. This prevents the cookies from spreading too much.
- Reserve a few M&Ms and sprinkles to press on top for a bakery style look.
- Slightly underbake for soft centers. About 14 minutes is perfect in my oven, but all ovens are different, so you may need a little more or less time. The cookies will finish setting as they cool.
- Use a cookie scoop for evenly sized cookies that bake consistently.

I hope you enjoy baking these Valentine M&M Cookies. Whether you're baking with your kids or making a batch to share, they're such a fun way to celebrate Valentine's Day!

- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 ¼ teaspoons baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 ¼ cups Valentine M&Ms
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- ¼ cup sprinkles
Instructions
- In a medium bowl mix together the flour, cornstarch, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
- In a mixer fitted with the paddle attachment cream together the butter and both sugars until light and fluffy.
- Add in the eggs, one at a time, scraping the sides of the bowl as needed. Add in the vanilla extract and mix until fully combined.

- Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 2 hours before baking.
- Place the chilled cookie dough in a 350°F oven and bake for approximately 14 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack. Enjoy!
