Quick tip: Make a full batch of my homemade Teriyaki Sauce and freeze it! It’s super convenient to scoop out just what you need for easy weeknight meals like Teriyaki Chicken or this salmon.
🐟Key Ingredients & Substitutions
- Salmon-Fresh or frozen fillets can be used. I use skinless in this recipe.
- Juice Trio – Apple, orange, and pineapple juice work together to create a bright, fruity base for the sauce. You can use just one or two if that’s what you have, but I highly recommend using the trio for the best flavor.
- Soy Sauce – I typically use regular soy sauce, but low-sodium can be substituted to control the salt level.
🥣How To Make Teriyaki Salmon Recipe
This from scratch teriyaki salmon recipe comes together quickly with just a few simple steps. You’ll start by making the flavorful teriyaki sauce, then sear the salmon before finishing it off in the oven.
STEP 1
In a small bowl, whisk together the apple juice, orange juice, pineapple juice, soy sauce, sugar, honey, and cornstarch. Pour the mixture into a small saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat, whisking continuously, until the sauce thickens—about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
STEP 2
Pat the salmon dry and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat and add the oil. Once hot, add the salmon and cook for 3 to 4 minutes or until lightly browned.
STEP 3
Flip the salmon fillets and spoon your desired amount of sauce over the top. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 3 to 4 minutes or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
STEP 4
Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions if desired. Enjoy!
