Hello, my name is Sky, and I am the founder of the blog Simply Scratch Made. This blog was born from my desire to share my passion for cooking from scratch and to teach others the art of cooking.
I was born and raised in a small town in East Texas. I am the youngest sibling of three. And a huge foodie! My culinary favorites include beef roast, homemade breads, and cookies.
My journey into culinary education began years ago in college where I studied Culinary Arts. After college I worked in the food service industry (at the college I attended), which blossomed into a fervent desire to teach others the art of cooking from scratch, culminating in my role as a Culinary Arts Instructor.
Now I am a full-time mom, homesteader and blogger. I love sharing my passion for “all things food” with as many people as possible. From easy dinner recipes to homemade bread to delicious desserts, I share all of my favorite recipes here.
I also share homesteading tips, from how-to-grow gardening advice to simple tips for the home. In the past 5 years, gardening and raising chickens has been a huge part of my life. It’s not always easy but so rewarding.
I hope that through sharing my passion for cooking and homesteading I can inspire you and others to get into kitchen and the garden.
