Ingredients

  • 1 lb broccoli cut into medium sized florets
  • as needed olive oil
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon korean red pepper flakes or crushed red pepper (optional)
  • as needed lemon zest or juice optional
I always use Kosher salt in my kitchen! If using table salt, start with half the amount and adjust to taste, as it is much "saltier" by volume.

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Rinse and dry your broccoli and spread it out on the baking sheet.
  • Drizzle olive oil over the broccoli, season with salt, pepper, garlic and red pepper flakes.  Toss to coat evenly.
  • Place in the preheated oven and roast for approximately 20-25 minutes or until the broccoli is tender and the tips to get a little crispy.
  • Once the broccoli is done, garnish with a little lemon zest or a drizzle of lemon juice and enjoy!

Notes

Halved mushrooms are great to roast with the broccoli.
