Your new favorite Spinach Alfredo Pizza. This delicious pizza has everything you love about Spinach Alfredo pizza with addition of crispy, smoky BACON!

Spinach Alfredo Bacon Pizza is one of my favorite pizzas to make. Creamy Alfredo sauce, fresh spinach and crispy bacon make up this delicious pizza. If you are looking to change up pizza night, this pizza is it. I promise, you will not be disappointed with this fantastic flavor combination.

It is no secret that we eat a lot of pizza at my house. I have already posted a few of our favorite pizzas on this blog. I make two pizzas every time and often try different toppings. Alfredo is one of my family’s favorite sauces and we always use on one of the pizzas we make on pizza night.

Typically, we make Pepperoni Alfredo pizza. Every now and then I’ll change up the alfredo pizza by adding different toppings. Which is where the Spinach Alfredo Bacon Pizza came from.

I am huge fan of spinach alfredo pizza and adding the bacon gives the pizza a great smoky flavor note. Which makes spinach alfredo pizza even better.

They key to really good homemade pizza is making the crust and sauces from scratch. This pizza dough recipe is my go-to recipe. I have been using it for several years. It makes 2 large pizzas or 3 medium pizzas.

You can certainly speed up the process of making pizza by using premade pizza dough and sauces, but I highly recommend making them from scratch. For this recipe I have already converted the pizza dough recipe for you. If you are wanting to use this dough for more than one pizza, go on over to that post and make the whole recipe.

Tips

  • One thing to note is that you don’t want to walk away from the sauce once it starts simmering, you will risk scorching your heavy cream. The cream will heat up fairly fast and start to thicken, so you will want to keep an eye on it. To check if it is thick enough it should coat the back of a spoon. Once it cools down it will thicken even more.
  • Always use freshly shredded and grated parmesan cheese.
  • Asiago and Romano cheeses are great when used with the parmesan cheese.

How to Make Spinach Alfredo Bacon Pizza

  • Make pizza dough – Or use your favorite pizza dough recipe.
  • Cook the bacon – In a skillet or oven, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove from the pan and place on a paper towel lined plate to remove the excess fat. Rough chop and set aside.
  • Make the Spinach Alfredo Sauce – In a small pan over medium heat add the olive oil. Next add in the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in the parmesan cheese and continue cooking until thickened to sauce consistency. Stir in the spinach and cook for 1 minute, or until the spinach is wilted. Remove from the heat and set aside until needed.

Spinach Alfredo Bacon Pizza

Creamy Alfredo sauce, fresh spinach and crispy bacon make up this delicious pizza. If you are looking to change up pizza night, this pizza is it!  Spinach Alfredo Bacon Pizza is a fantastic addition to pizza night!

Prep Time 35 mins Cook Time 15 mins Rest Time 3 hrs Total Time 3 hrs 50 mins Difficulty: Intermediate Cooking Temp: 450  °F Servings: 4

Ingredients

Pizza Dough

Spinach Alfredo Sauce

Instructions

  1. Pizza Dough

In your mixer, mix together the warm water, yeast and warm milk.  Allow to sit for a few minutes so that the yeast has time to bloom.

  2. Mix in the honey, salt, olive oil and half of the flour. Using the dough hook on its lowest speed, start to knead the dough. Continue kneading the dough and start adding 1/2 cup of flour at a time, only using enough flour for the dough to come together. You may or may not need all of the flour.  Or you may need more flour.

  3. Once you have added as much flour as it needs, turn the speed up to the next setting and knead the dough for approximately 10 minutes. The dough should be elastic, soft and tacky, not sticky. Remove the dough hook, lightly coat the dough with oil, cover the bowl with a towel and set aside to proof until it doubles in size, 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

  4. Spinach Alfredo Sauce

While the dough is proofing make the sauce.  In a small pan over medium heat add the olive oil.

  5. Assemble and bake pizza

Preheat an oven to 450° F.  On a lightly oiled surface, roll out the dough to your desired shape.  Roll it thin for a thinner pizza or thick for a thick crust.  Place on a lightly greased (or parchment lined) pan.

  6. Spread the sauce on the pizza dough and top with shredded mozzarella and the chopped bacon.

  7. Place in a 450 ° F oven and bake for 12-15 minutes.  Let rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.  Enjoy!
