I always use Kosher salt in my kitchen! If using table salt, start with half the amount and adjust to taste, as it is much "saltier" by volume.
Instructions
Pre-heat an oven to 450° F.
Lightly grease a work surface and roll the pizza dough out into a 15-inch circle. Place on a lightly greased pizza pan, gently stretch the dough back into a 15-inch circle.
Spread an even layer of pizza sauce over the pizza dough. Using as much as you want. Sprinkle over 2 cups of the mozzarella cheese.
Add the crumbled spicy Italian sausage, green olives and banana peppers. Sprinkle over the remaining mozzarella cheese and the parmesan cheese. Add a drizzle of olive oil if desired.
Bake for 15-20 minutes. For a thicker crust let the pizza rest for 30 minutes before baking.
Allow the pizza to rest for 5-10 minutes before topping with basil and slicing. Enjoy!
Notes
Actual time varies, depending on if you are making the dough from scratch too. Pizza DoughPizza SauceFor a thicker crust, let the pizza sit for 20-30 minutes after adding the toppings to puff up.
