Spicy Sauce

This Asian inspired Spicy Sauce is made with Gochujang and Gochugaru.  It is great to add a little spice to dishes like Fried Rice.  A must try recipe!

Ingredients
  

  • cup gochujang
  • cup onion minced
  • 1 ½ teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoon Gochugaru flakes Korean red pepper flakes
  • cup sprite/sierra mist
I always use Kosher salt in my kitchen! If using table salt, start with half the amount and adjust to taste, as it is much "saltier" by volume.

Instructions
 

  • Using a blender, add all of the ingredients except for the sprite/sierra mist. 
    Pulse a few times to get the onions finely minced. 
  • Once the onions are finely minced, scoop out into a bowl and stir in the sprite/sierra mist.
  • Add to a saucepan on medium low heat and cook, stirring for 5 minutes.  Freeze or use however you like.  Enjoy!

Notes

Yields 1 cup of sauce
