Pizza Sauce

Ingredients
  

  • 15 ounces tomato sauce
  • 1 pinch sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon oregano dried
  • 1 Teaspoon basil dried
I always use Kosher salt in my kitchen! If using table salt, start with half the amount and adjust to taste, as it is much "saltier" by volume.

Instructions
 

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the tomato sauce, oregano, basil, garlic powder, sugar, salt, and pepper.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. If you like a bit of heat, stir in a pinch of red pepper flakes.
  • Use immediately or store in the fridge for up to 5 days. For longer storage, freeze in small portions for easy use later!

Notes

This recipe makes enough for several pizzas.  I like to freeze what I don't use for the next time I make pizza.
