Ingredients

  • 1 sheet premade puffy pastry
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 20 pepperonis

Pizza Sauce

  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning

Garlic Butter Topping

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • pinch salt
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon parmesan cheese grated
I always use Kosher salt in my kitchen! If using table salt, start with half the amount and adjust to taste, as it is much "saltier" by volume.

Instructions

  • In a small bowl combine the pizza sauce ingredients, stir well to combine.
  • Lightly flour a work surface and lay out the puff pastry. Unfold the dough and evenly spread ⅓ cup of pizza sauce over the surface.
  • Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the pizza sauce, then layer on the pepperoni slices. Roll the pastry tightly into a log, then refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm up.
  • Preheat your oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Remove the pastry from the refrigerator. Using a serrated knife, gently slice the log into ½-inch pieces and place them on a lined baking sheet. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden and flaky.
  • Combine the melted butter with the remaining garlic butter ingredients and mix well to combine.
  • Brush the warm pinwheels with garlic butter and sprinkle over extra grated parmesan cheese, if desired.  Serve with the remaining pizza sauce for dipping. Enjoy!
