A simple homemade Marinara Sauce recipe is a must-have in everyone's cookbook. Preparing Marinara Sauce from scratch is quite easy. The best part? You probably already have the ingredients to make it!
I always use Kosher salt in my kitchen! If using table salt, start with half the amount and adjust to taste, as it is much "saltier" by volume.
Instructions
Preheat a large pan over medium heat, add in the oil. Once the oil is hot add in the onions and sautée until translucent. About 6 minutes. Next add in the garlic and sautée for 30 seconds.
Now add in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes and all of the herbs and spices. Bring to a simmer and allow to cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
If making this with pasta add in ½ cup of your pasta water, stir well and adjust the seasonings if needed. Enjoy!
