Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds chicken breasts cut into bite sized pieces
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil or any neutral tasting oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger minced
  • 3 ½ tablespoons soy sauce
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • as needed red pepper flakes optional
  • as needed sesame seeds optional
I always use Kosher salt in my kitchen! If using table salt, start with half the amount and adjust to taste, as it is much "saltier" by volume.

Instructions

  • Season the chicken with salt and pepper. Then, toss the chicken in cornstarch to fully coat it.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.  Add in the olive oil and begin cooking the chicken until browned and fully cooked.  Reduce the heat to medium.
  • Add the butter to the pan, once melted add in the minced garlic and ginger.  Sauté for 30 seconds.  Pour in the soy sauce and honey.  Mix well.
  • Cook for one minute then serve over white rice and garnish with red pepper flakes and sesame seeds.  Enjoy!
