This easy one pot taco pasta is made in a pan and is ready to serve in just 30 minutes! Tender pasta shells, perfectly seasoned ground beef, and a rich, creamy cheddar cheese sauce combine to create an effortless weeknight dinner the whole family will love.
I always use Kosher salt in my kitchen! If using table salt, start with half the amount and adjust to taste, as it is much "saltier" by volume.
Instructions
In a large, deep pan over medium heat, begin browning the ground beef. When the meat is halfway through cooking, add in the diced onions and continue cooking until the meat is fully cooked and the onions are tender. Drain off the fat and return the pan to the burner.
Add the minced garlic and tomato paste directly to the beef. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly, until the paste deepens in color and the garlic is fragrant.
Pour in the beef stock, milk, diced tomatoes, and all of the individual seasonings. Stir to fully combine.
Bring the liquid to a boil, then add in the 3 cups of pasta shells and stir well. Cover with a lid and reduce the heat to a simmer. Cook for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the pasta shells are tender.
Uncover the pan and remove it from the heat. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until fully melted and creamy. Garnish with chopped cilantro if desired. Enjoy!
