Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 5 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter softened
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar lightly packed
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 tablespoons sprinkles
  • ¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • As Needed edible eyeballs sprinkles
I always use Kosher salt in my kitchen! If using table salt, start with half the amount and adjust to taste, as it is much "saltier" by volume.

Instructions

  • Preheat an oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder and salt.  Whisk until well combined.  Set aside.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the butter and both sugars and cream until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  • Add the egg yolks in, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.  Add in the vanilla extract and mix until fully combined.
  • Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix until fully combined.  Fold in the chocolate chips and sprinkles, reserving some for the tops of the cookies.
  • Using a 1-ounce cookie scoop or two heaping tablespoons, scoop the dough and place on the prepared baking sheet.  Top with extra sprinkles and edible eyeballs.
  • Bake for 10 minutes.  Enjoy!
