I always use Kosher salt in my kitchen! If using table salt, start with half the amount and adjust to taste, as it is much "saltier" by volume.
Instructions
Start by heating ½" of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium- high heat. Fry each corn tortilla for approximately 1 minute, flip and fry for an additional 30 - 45 seconds
The tortillas should be crisp and slightly darker in color. Place on a wire rack or paper towels to drain and cool. Continue until all of the tortillas are cooked.
In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Crumbling as it cooks. When the beef is halfway through cooking add in the diced onions and continue cooking until fully cooked.
Drain the meat, return to the skillet and stir in the seasonings. Add 1-2 tablespoons of water if needed to fully incorporate the seasonings.
Gather all of your topping and start to assemble the tostadas. Spread your desired amount of refried beans on the tostada, top with the meat and other toppings. Enjoy!
