Goulash

Goulash

Hearty, delicious and super simple to make. Goulash is a family favorite dish that I grew up eating. This wonderful recipe comes together quickly with just a few staple ingredients. Perfect for an easy weeknight dinner. The pasta is cooked in the pot with all of the other ingredients, making this a one pot dish. Less mess, less clean up. Always a bonus!

Goulash is one of the easiest one-pot dishes to make. Ground beef, veggies and noodles are all combined in the pot to simmer for 20-30 minutes. Then you add in the cheese, which gets all melted and gooey, and it's done.

This is a great dish for the freezer. Double the recipe, portion and freeze. I like to put the portions in freezer bags, spread it out and lay it flat in the freezer so that I can stack them to take up less space. This also helps with faster thawing.

Your leftovers can also be frozen!

These 10 Easy Ground Beef Dinner Recipes are tried and true recipes that I fall back on whenever I am tired and needing to get dinner to my hungry kiddos fast, while sticking to scratch made food.

  • 1 Pound ground beef
  • 1 Cup onion (small diced)
  • 3 Cloves garlic (minced)
  • 15 oz diced tomatoes (petite diced)
  • 15 oz tomato sauce
  • 2.5 cup water
  • 2 cup elbow macaroni noodles
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 Teaspoon pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon paprika
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 Teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 Teaspoon dried parsley
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 Teaspoon worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • 1 Cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
  1. In a large pot over medium heat, add in your ground beef and onion.  Cook until the beef is done.  Drain off the grease and add the meat back to the pot.

  2. Add in the minced garlic and sauté until the garlic is fragrant.

  3. Add in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, water and all of the herbs and spices.

  4. Bring to boil and add in the noodles.  Reduce to a simmer and cover.  Cook for 20 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.  Once the noodles are done, turn the heat off, remove the bay leaf and stir in the cheese.  Adjust the seasonings if needed.  Enjoy!
