Christmas Rice Krispie Treats Ingredients

This recipe starts with the classic Rice Krispie treat ingredients, then adds peanut butter for an extra layer of yumminess. A topping of chocolate and festive sprinkles takes these treats to the next level!

How To Make Easy Christmas Rice Krispie Treats

These Christmas treats are so easy to make. The hardest part is waiting to eat them!

STEP 1

Melt the butter in a large pot over low heat. Stir in the marshmallows, keep stirring until fully melted. Now stir in the peanut butter and continue stirring until smooth. Remove from heat.

STEP 2

Immediately add in all of the rice krispies cereal and stir until fully combined. Press evenly into a 9x13 baking dish. Allow to cool completely before making the chocolate topping.

STEP 3

In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate. Stir in the peanut butter until smooth, then spread it evenly over the Rice Krispie treats. Chill in the refrigerator for 10 minutes, or until the chocolate is set. Once set, cut into 16 equal triangles. (Two of the end pieces won’t be perfect triangles—consider those a tasty snack! 😄)

STEP 4

Melt the green candy melts according to the package instructions. Transfer to a piping bag and pipe a zigzag pattern, starting small at the top and getting wider as you move toward the bottom. Immediately add sprinkles. Be sure to work on one tree at a time, as the candy melts dry quickly. Enjoy!
